This video simultaneously 1) answers the questions of where bears come from, 2) reveals what amazing superpowers we bears possess, and 3) promotes the Anchorage hockey team “The Alaska Nanooks”:
It took a little longer than we thought to get the technical kinks worked out, but the video with hilarious commentary from myself, Tom Stephens, and Brian Alterman is now for sale at Rifftrax.com for a mere $.98. To get it, just go here. Just remember, if you made an iRiff, we’d buy it too!
Tom Stephens, Brian Alterman, and I have produced Film Is Pwn’s first “short,” riffing Mystery Science Theater 3000 style on an educational film from 1940 about tuberculosis called “Goodbye, Mr. Germ.” The short will be for sale soon (hopefully by Tuesday afternoon) for a most reasonable $.98 here, it’s a little over fourteen minutes in length, chocked full of great jokes like this:
Recently Tom Stephens and I finished recording our very first iRiff (downloadable audio tracks from Rifftrax.com, which you can sync up to movies and watch with our hilarious commentary along with the film), for our favorite film: Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. (Special thanks to brother Joseph and friend Brian Alterman for contributing to our writing sessions.) Below is a sample from the riff, which will be up at Rifftrax.com for sale in a couple of days. Hopefully this will whet your appetite enough so that you buy the DVD now — and avoid the rush at the video store.
Enjoy, won’t you?
That’s right, loyal readers, the next movie from our pals at the Asylum is sure to be an instant classic, no less a film than MegaShark vs. Giant Octopus. Tom and I gathered to debate the merits of the contest that will redefine “heavyweight monster fight” for this generation. Incidentally, we actually got the date wrong, the movie FIGHT is actually coming out on MAY 19th rather than MAY 26th. Pardon the bad lighting, as the Film Is Pwn studios are going through some renovation to get up to code, we were forced to film in my living room:
I assure you, I said “Giant Octopus” — now, click for “more” for the official trailer of the film: (more…)
Daniel and I’s favorite movie studio The Asylum released their latest movie “The Terminators” about 10 days ago. Daniel and I met up to watch and much fun was had. We recorded our thoughts right after the movie with some extra bits about other Asylum movies.
Listen for my excellent showing of my Southern American roots with the statement “We’ve just got done”.

A few notes on pirates: 1st, from the real world, Tom brought to my attention a proposed solution to the pirate scourge from Congressman Ron Paul: Hire privateers. Yes, unleashing private citizens to go over there and take out the modern day pirates of the high seas and low-class that are giving Captain Jack Sparrow a bad name. Read about Paul’s plan here, or watch Rep. Paul’s proposal issued directly to youtube: (more…)
From the movie Paint Your Wagon. For the record, Clint Eastwood: You are perhaps the greatest living filmmaker. But what were you (and Lee Marvin!) thinking when you made a Western musical???? (more…)
