Lindsay Lohan Sues E*trade for $100,000,000

Why, apparently she believes one of their commercials featuring a baby named “Lindsay” who is called a “Milk-a-holic” is libel and everyone thinks of Lindsay Lohan when they hear the name “Lindsay.”  Huh.  The funny thing is, most folks didn’t associate the ad with Lindsay Lohan’s lamentable personal problems . . . until now. For that matter, most of us forgot about this little Superbowl commercial and put it out of our minds . . . until now. The article is here.  Click more if you’d like to see the SHOCKING commercial that has spawned a lawsuit that I truly hope will get laughed out of court very quickly: (more…)

James Cameron is working on a prequel to Avatar, his insanely successful blockbuster.  Fortunately, this prequel is going to be a NOVEL.  So none of those distracting visuals just the story, and characters, and . . . uh . . . here’s hoping the cover is pretty.  See the article here.

Wesley Snipes Wants to Do Blade 4

Wesley Snipes says he’d do Blade 4 if the script was right.  In related news, Wesley Snipes is one bad film away personal appearances at birthday parties or — dare I say it? — an Asylum movie.  Insert your own joke here.

A Bad Month For Kevin Smith

Filed under:Upcoming Movies, news — posted by Daniel Roos on February 15, 2010 @ 5:33 pm

You might think I’m referring to the fact that the writer/director/actor Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, etc.) was recently kicked off an airplane for being too overweight.  But I’m not.  I’m referring to the fact that onetime indy film auteur’s latest film is the ultimate in bland, generic, buddy cop comedy Cop Out starring Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan. Poor, poor Kevin Smith: (more…)

Christopher Nolan Doing Superman?

My favorite director, Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins, The Prestiege, The Dark Knight, etc.) has reportedly been brought in to oversee (not direct) another Superman reboot, while he’s still working on the third Batman film.  See the article from Deadline Hollywood here.  Nothing but good news, if you ask me.

Do Go Gentle Into That Good Night…

Filed under:Skip It, news — posted by Brian Alterman on January 29, 2010 @ 8:47 am

On the heels of my post detailing Sly Stallone’s beating at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin, comes this wonderful article chronicling the attempts by a 49 year old Van Dam to get a real honest to goodness fight with 3 time Olympian Somluck Kamsing.  Really?  Does he really think this is a good idea?  This is a guy who looses fights with hotel rooms.  Well, the fight would have to take place abroad as it would never be sanctioned in the US.  He is 49 years old for Pete’s sake! Sylvester Stallone injures neck in fight scenes

Filed under:Upcoming Movies, news — posted by Brian Alterman on January 24, 2010 @ 9:14 am

I know, I know… this comes as a huge surprise to you.  Sly is not only still alive, someone is allowing him to make movies.  Yes, it was a shock to me as well, but then again Lindsay Lohan still gets work, so it’s only fair.

Anyway, I cam across this article the other day and while I know I shouldn’t hope the injuries are life threatening, career ending might be a good place to start.  (more…)

Filed under:Upcoming Movies, news — posted by Daniel Roos on January 21, 2010 @ 1:09 am

I’m very excited to see reported on Ain’t It Cool News word that a sequel to My Name Is Bruce is in the works.  My Name is Bruce, for those who don’t remember my electric blog from last year, is the B-movie for B-movie lovers by the King of B-Movies, Bruce Campbell.  My Name Is Bruce is a ** movie that is **** worth of fun for me.  The sequel’s title? Bruce vs. Frankenstein.  Can’t wait!
