Superbowl Movie Commercials!
First one, Director Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe. Looks like Gladiator in Sherwood Forest. My interest: Pretty tepid.

Second was The Wolfman — basically the same promo that hasn’t gotten me interested for the past few months. Is that really worth 2.5 millions? Interest: Mild.

# 3: Shutter Island. Sadly, just another concatenated version of the full-length trailer. The latest from Director Martin Scorsese, starring Leonardo Decaprio. Interest: kinda.

I don’t watch CSIs, but the big promos have me intrigued. CSI: New York with Danica Patrick? CSI: Miami with an episode promising SPACE travel? Who said that two spin-offs would sap the creative energy of the franchises? Scoff! I say, scoff!

Who are these charming young men? The Who? Some new band?

Yeah, why can’t the Superbowl use some established stars for the halftime show? Where is Lawrence Welk? Bobby Darin? Judy Garland? Barry Manilow?
In fairness, these “The Who” guys are pretty good, even if they are just a CBS Theme Song Cover Band . . .

Prince of Persia? Best so far, which doesn’t say much. looks like Pirates of the Carribean crossed with the Mummy. Pales in comparison to Clash of the Titans.

Congratulations, New Orleans. Man oh man, it’s a good thing the game was fun, because the commercials were subpar in general, the movie trailers in particular. Where was Iron Man 2? Christopher Nolan’s Inception? Jonah Hex? Clash of the Titans? Salt? The A-Team? Shrek 4?
I saw a link to the Summer’s M. Night Shyamalan movie, but must have missed it when it aired. I didn’t miss much, though I think it’s nice that M. Night is doing a movie that does not require a “shocking” twist ending. I’d rather he do a good movie, but beggars can’t be choosers.
