Stanley Kubrick Faked The Moon Landing?

And Kubrick’s classic 1980 movie The Shining is his hidden confession?  I love conspiracy theories, not because they are true but because they are generally interesting and entertaining.  The author has put a great deal of thought into his Kubrick/Moon Landing Haux/Shining Confession, which is what makes it a great read.

A teaser of some of the “proof” of the theory:

May I humbly suggest that the word “All” in this repeated sentence actually stands for “A11″ that is: “A-One-One”, or Apollo 11?  “A11 work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

It is snowing in my hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.  An alien invasion does not debilitate New York City to the degree that an inch of snow shuts down Charlotte.  Charlotte’s citizenry forget how to behave when beset by fears of the white powder descending from the heavens like millions of malicious storm troopers.   (more…)

Do Go Gentle Into That Good Night…

On the heels of my post detailing Sly Stallone’s beating at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin, comes this wonderful article chronicling the attempts by a 49 year old Van Dam to get a real honest to goodness fight with 3 time Olympian Somluck Kamsing.  Really?  Does he really think this is a good idea?  This is a guy who looses fights with hotel rooms.  Well, the fight would have to take place abroad as it would never be sanctioned in the US.  He is 49 years old for Pete’s sake! Whiteout (2009)

I realize that I am one of the few humans capable of feeling disappointment when a film turns out not to be terrible.  In this regard, Whiteout has disappointed me terribly.

Just out on DVD, Whiteout was a relatively big-budget thriller starring Kate Beckinsale.  It appeared in theaters for approximately 17 minutes, barely long enough for it to be panned by critics and irritate the two guys who wanted to see.  One of those men was me, the other happened to be the mother of the film’s director. Just saw The Book of Eli, and I liked it.  It’s a post-apocalyptic film that feels like a classic Clint Eastwood Western.  (more…)

Sylvester Stallone injures neck in fight scenes

Filed under:Upcoming Movies, news — posted by Brian Alterman on January 24, 2010 @ 9:14 am

I know, I know… this comes as a huge surprise to you.  Sly is not only still alive, someone is allowing him to make movies.  Yes, it was a shock to me as well, but then again Lindsay Lohan still gets work, so it’s only fair.

Anyway, I cam across this article the other day and while I know I shouldn’t hope the injuries are life threatening, career ending might be a good place to start.  (more…)

Mega Shark Eating a Plane Mid-Flight = Plausible?

Filed under:The Asylum — posted by Daniel Roos on January 23, 2010 @ 12:06 pm

According to this web-site, the classic scene from our favorite B-movie Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus is entirely, scientifically possible.  While I’m tempted to dismiss this as merely “Mega Science vs. Giant Common Sense,” the site does contain a nifty chart with statistics, so it must be true, right?  Aren’t 102% of statistics accurate? For those who haven’t seen the movie, click “more” and see the classic scene yourself (more…)
