Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen iRiff Now 4 Sale!
Film Is Pwn’s first iRiff was for a fun little, no-budget turd of joy called Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, which got great feedback and a spot on the iRiff top seller list (thank you very much) The next movie we wrote and recorded riffs for was 80s fun/bad classic Monster Squad, which is still in the can because we decided to shelve everything to work on our most ambitious project, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We figured we’d have our Transformers 2 iRiff up and running early in the week, sit by the pool, and wait for that elusive six figure Rifftrax residuals check. ‘Twas not to be.
In retrospect, writing and editing a nearly 2 and a half hour blockbuster with no-nstop robot fights is particularly challenging when you have wacky things like jobs, families, and softball teams. After a long Friday night and morning, our Transformers iRiff is up Saturday morning, sadly after the Rifftrax pros Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett put out one of their own on Thursday. *Sigh*
Plus, after watching Transformers 2 approximately 315 times, there’s a certain joy of life that I don’t think you get back (ironically, I happen to be the one guy in our three riffer team [with pals Brian Alterman and Tom Stephens] who LIKED the movie and said nice things about it when it was released, though I maintain every scene with John Torturro hamming it up and Peter Cullen voicing Optimus is great).
So, if you’re going to watch Transformers Revenge of the Fallen just once, I recommend doing so with the riffing by Kevin, Mike, and Bill. But, if you’re going to check it out TWICE (please consult a physician if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or possess retinas) hey, why not spend about two and a half hours with those guys who Pwn films, me, Tom, and Brian!*
* I should note that Tom and Brian actually left and came back during the riffing itself, thanks to the aforementioned “family”/”job” stuff plus they both grew to detest this movie rather quickly, their departures we kind of turned into mini-skits, so for about a 30 minute stretch there’s just me solo-riffing my little heart out before the three of us finish the movie in grand, cinematic fashion.
Enough rambling, here’s the pertinent info. Check out a clip here:

You can go to the Rifftrax page here to purchase the audio track for a reasonable $1.98; you’ll need to rent/purchase the DVD and there are instructions how to sync the two up when you get the track:

Good stuff, it actually made Transformers 2 watchable which is quite an accomplishment. Keep up the good work!

Classic. When my wife brought this home I thought “What one Earth were you thinking?”, but this made it not only bearable, but fun.
